Pure in Heart offers an engaging and balanced presentation to adolescents that promotes a healthy attitude towards love and relationships. Our primary aim is to encourage young people to become the best version of themselves by promoting their selfworth, a positive self-image, and provide the necessary skills to build lasting relationships. We have spoken to over 125,000 young people to date and further groups have since been established in England, Wales, Haiti, US, Kenya and Liberia.
Pure in Heart offers a range of high quality multi-media presentations and workshop sessions and cater for groups of various sizes. Our programme has been designed in consultation with secondary level teachers and can be tailored as required in accordance with the core values, ethos and RSE policy of each individual school. Each presentation is made appropriate to specific age groups and level of development of the students. Parent/Guardian information evenings are also readily provided upon request. Our Presentations cover:
- What is love?
- Goodness of the human person
- Building self-esteem and confidence
- Dating and managing relationships
- Modesty and respect
- Exploring the nature of marriage and family life
- Sexual intimacy and the importance of consent
- Challenges to love: Pornography and Lust
- Deciding for love
Friendship is a big part of what we’re about! Pure in Heart began in 2000 as a prayer group. A large community of young people continue to gather each week, on a Thursday evening at 23 Merrion Square for Holy Mass, music, reflective prayer and catechesis. Here, we pray especially for the students we reach through the mission team. Are you aged between 18-35? Why not join us?
‘God is Love’ Jn 1:4
Our charism is founded upon the lasting wisdom and unchanging teaching of the Catholic church. In particular the invitation to imitate Christ in
His love for others. Chastity is about learning how to love authentically with our bodies. It is a virtue that encompasses purity of heart, mind and body, directing sexual desires to marriage, where it becomes a full expression of love.
