As Christians we’re called to imitate Jesus Christ in his love for others.
“Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the Church, and gave up His body for her” Eph 5:25
When we use the word Pure, we mean 100%, in other words, loving someone completely, always putting them first no matter what the cost. Temptation faces us all in many ways no matter what our circumstances, particularly when it comes to intimate relationships with the person we desire to be closer to than anyone else.
Being Pure in Heart is something we strive to live and share with others the beauty, joy and truth of our inherent human dignity and sexuality ‘male and female created in the image and likeness of God’ Gen 1:27. To live and share purity of heart is only possible with God and the generous graces that come from prayer and the sacraments.
Ours is truly a God of second chances, and his love for each one of us is infinite.
St Raphael, St Joseph and St Maria Gorretti are our patron saints. Each week we conclude our prayer meeting with our ‘prayer for purity’, asking our patron saints to intercede for us.
